Our pump intake hose features a embedded wire helix that prevents collapse under full vacuum. This maintains the internal bore diameter at all times, ensuring consistent water flow to the pump inlet.

The smooth EPDM tube minimizes friction loss, while the tough rubber cover resists abrasion from contact with well casings, pond edges, and concrete surfaces. Standard camlock ends make coupling quick and secure.

What size suction hose do I need for my pump?

Suction hose should match the pump inlet diameter or be one size larger for long suction lifts. A hose that is too small restricts flow and increases the risk of cavitation. For suction lifts over 5 meters, we recommend upsizing by one nominal diameter to reduce friction losses.

What is the vacuum rating of a suction hose?

Full vacuum rating (29.9 inHg or 760 mmHg) means the hose will maintain its round cross-section under maximum suction. Our helix-reinforced suction hoses are rated for full vacuum, preventing collapse that would starve the pump of water and cause cavitation damage.

What reinforcement types are available for suction hose?

Wire helix reinforcement provides the highest collapse resistance and is recommended for heavy-duty agricultural suction. Spring-steel wire embedded in the hose wall maintains full bore under vacuum and also provides crush resistance if stepped on or run over by light vehicles.
