Common challenges in fire fighting hose operations

We solve the problems that cost response teams time and compromise safety.

Fire hose abrasion on rough terrain

Standard fire hose jackets wear through quickly on concrete and rubble. Our double-jacket construction with abrasion-resistant treatment extends service life 2x in urban fire fighting.

Flood hose deployment speed

When flooding is rising, every minute counts. Our large-diameter layflat packs compact and deploys fast — one person can lay 100m in under 3 minutes.

Coupling compatibility with local hydrants

Fire departments often face mismatched coupling threads when connecting hoses to hydrants or other apparatus. We supply hoses with NH, NST, or Storz couplings and adapters — ensuring your hose connects to any hydrant in your district.

Field result: Egypt — Flood response deployment

How rapid-deployment layflat hoses enabled emergency flood water transfer in seasonal flash flooding.

Egypt Emergency Response

Situation: A municipality in Egypt needed rapid-deployment flood hoses for seasonal flash flooding events. Standard layflat hoses required multiple personnel and disconnected couplings during deployment, wasting critical response time.

Solution: Deployed 8-inch large-diameter layflat hose with pre-attached couplings and compact folding design. The hose was stored in lightweight coils that could be carried by a single responder.

Outcome: 500m of hose laid across flood zones in 15 minutes — a 70% reduction in deployment time compared to conventional hoses. The municipality now stocks 2km of layflat for the rainy season.

Fire fighting hose FAQ

Are your fire hoses NFPA 1961 compliant?

Yes, our municipal fire hoses are designed and tested to meet NFPA 1961 requirements for fire hose. This includes burst pressure testing, coupling retention, and kink resistance. We can provide a certificate of compliance with each shipment.

What is the testing pressure for your fire hoses?

Our standard fire hose is service-test rated at 300 PSI with a minimum burst pressure of 900 PSI (3:1 safety factor). We also offer high-pressure variants rated up to 400 PSI service / 1200 PSI burst for applications requiring higher working pressures.

What diameters are available for flood deployment layflat hoses?

We manufacture flood deployment layflat hoses from 4-inch up to 12-inch diameter, with 6-inch and 8-inch being the most common for municipal flood response. Larger diameters allow higher flow rates — an 8-inch hose can move over 2,000 GPM at moderate pump pressure.
