Hydraulic press hose

High-pressure hydraulic hose for presses, cylinders, and power units. Spiral-wire and braided constructions rated for continuous industrial duty.

Best for: hydraulic presses, injection molding machines, power units

High-pressure hydraulic hose

Our hydraulic press hoses are engineered for the extreme demands of industrial machinery. Spiral-wire and braided reinforcement layers provide the burst strength needed to handle pressure spikes and cyclic loading in press applications.

The tube is oil-resistant synthetic rubber (RMA Class A) for long-term compatibility with hydraulic fluids. The cover is abrasion- and weather-resistant, suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation. Each assembly is crimped with traceable tooling and impulse-tested before shipment.

Challenges solved by correct hydraulic hose selection

Hose burst under peak pressure

Hydraulic systems generate pressure spikes well above pump rating, especially during press cycles. Our spiral-wire reinforced hoses handle up to 6000 PSI with a 4:1 safety factor, and impulse-tested fittings withstand 1M+ cycles without fatigue failure.

Fitting leakage after repeated flexing

Standard crimps loosen over time under vibration and flex cycles common to press operations. Our crimping process is calibrated per hose size and fitting type, with 100% pressure testing to ensure zero-leak connections through the full service life.

Excessive hose flexing at connection points

Hydraulic press hoses that are too rigid create stress on pump and cylinder ports, leading to thread damage and seal leaks. Our hose selection prioritizes the right balance of flexibility and pressure rating — high-flex wire braid constructions that absorb machine vibration without transferring stress to ports.

Case study: Metal stamping plant, Thailand

How upgrading to SAE 100 R12 spiral-wire hose eliminated burst failures on a 500-ton press line.

Thailand Industrial

Situation: An automotive stamping plant in Rayong was experiencing quarterly hose burst events on a 500-ton hydraulic press. The braided R1 hoses were failing at coupling ends after 4–6 months, causing production downtime and safety concerns.

Solution: Replaced all press hydraulic lines with SAE 100 R12 four-spiral-wire hose, upsized from 3/4-inch to 1-inch ID to reduce flow velocity and backpressure. Fittings were upgraded to split-flange connections with O-ring seals.

Outcome: Zero hose failures in 18 months of continuous operation. Production uptime improved by 12%. Maintenance calls related to hydraulics reduced by 80%. The plant has since standardized on R12 for all high-cycle presses.

Hydraulic press hose FAQ

What SAE rating do I need for my hydraulic press application?

SAE 100 R1 (single wire braid) is suitable for medium-pressure systems up to 3000 PSI. SAE 100 R2 (double wire braid) doubles the reinforcement for pressures up to 4000 PSI. For high-pressure presses and power units above 4000 PSI, SAE 100 R12 (four spiral wire) provides the strength and impulse life needed for continuous operation.

What impulse life can I expect from your hydraulic hose assemblies?

Our hydraulic hose assemblies are impulse-tested to exceed SAE J343 requirements. Spiral-wire constructions (R12) typically achieve 1,000,000+ impulse cycles at 133% of working pressure. Braided constructions (R1/R2) exceed 500,000 impulse cycles. Fittings are crimped with calibrated tooling to ensure consistent compression across every assembly.

What temperature range can hydraulic press hoses withstand?

Our standard hydraulic hoses are rated for -40°C to +100°C (-40°F to +212°F) for continuous service. For high-temperature applications near furnaces or hot-forming presses, we offer high-temperature variants rated to +125°C with special tube compounds. Always verify that the ambient temperature at the installation site does not exceed the hose rating.
